Old Main Heritage Center and Chapel Theater

Project Summary:

Complete architectural and interior design services, including planning study, physical survey and analysis and programming. Renovation and restoration of the first building on campus into a heritage center containing a theater, gallery space, living museum space, and Arts and Sciences administrative offices. Chapel Theater renovation included creation of a new 224-seat performance theater/lecture hall within ehabilitated and reconstructed original theater, to include new proscenium, extensive historic millwork and ornamentation, trompe l’oeil painted ceiling and technical theater systems. The project was multi-phased and multi-funded, requiring strict scheduling and numerous stages for approval. The Old Main Building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and all modifications were in compliance with Secretary of the Interior guidelines.
