Project Summary:

Situated within Laramie’s Turner Tract development, this design/build project will be the first campus building for the Albany County Campus. After years of leasing space, Laramie County Community College secured funding and worked closely with Midyette Architects in creating their architectural program. It incorporates many energy-saving measures despite its limited budget. The design utilizes a geo-exchange heating and cooling system and day lighting to reduce energy costs throughout the building’s lifetime. Solar panels and three wind-powered generators take advantage of the natural setting in southeastern Wyoming. Designed within a very tight space program, the facility includes classrooms, five computer labs, an art room, science lab, server room, a large student commons and several faculty and administrative offices.
