Project Summary:

Complete architectural services, including master planning, space planning and interior design. This mixed-use project consisted of the construction of a new building and the renovation/addition to the existing 1427 Pearl Street building. These structures house retail on the first level along the Pearl Street pedestrian mall and professional offices in the remaining space. The new structure at 1433 Pearl is three stories high, which follows the rhythm of heights set by the other buildings in that block of the Mall. The 1427 Pearl Street building’s existing two-story Mall facade was restored where possible and renovated with sensitivity to its history where restoration was not feasible. A new partial third level is set back from the existing Mall facade to maintain the perceived building height of the main facade while allowing a soft transition to the upper levels.
